Misfortunes and Mistakes
of the Kennedys

When I developed this website I wanted it to remain a positive one, but to be fair
there are many misfortunes and mistakes. I do not claim that any of this in particular is true or false.

- The Kennedy's fortune came from Bootleggiing booze in the old days.

- Joe Sr. ordered that his daughter Rosemary have a lobotomy (1941) because she was retarded. He did it without telling Rose first. Rosemary is still alive in a Wisconsin institution.

- Joe Sr. allegedly had a affair with actress Gloria Swanson, which Rose ignored.

- Joseph Jr., the eldest son of Joseph and Rose, died in a plane crash during World War II on a dare-devil mission he was told not to do.

- Kathleen Kennedy, eldest daughter of Joseph and Rose hadn't spoken to her father in years because he didn't approve of whom she married. A year after her husband died in a plane crash during WWII, she was flying back to reconcile with her father when she died in a plane crash herself.

- JFK's allegedly had affairs with Marilyn Monroe, and maybe others while married.

- President John F. Kennedy, was assassinated in Dallas on November 22, 1963.

- Jackie had at least one miscarriage and gave birth to a stillborn daughter, before she and John had caroline.

- JFK's son Patrick was born prematurely in 1963 and died two days later.

- Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in June 1968 as he campaigned for the Democratic party's presidential nomination.

- Ted's plane went down on it's way to the Massachusett's Democratic State Convention in 1964. The pilot Ed Zimny died immediately after the crash, Ted's administrative aide, Edward S. Moss suffered massive brain injuries and died within hours, Senator Birch Bayh and his wife were seriously injured and Ted's back was broken along with other serious injuries.

- Ted drove a car off a bridge on Massachusetts' Chappaquiddick Island in 1969 after a party, killing aide Mary Jo Kopechne. Controversy over the incident effectively ended the Massachusetts Senator's presidential aspirations.

- Ted Jr. had his right leg amputated in 1973 because of cancer.

- Ted's son Patrick, now a congressman, sought treatment for cocaine addiction as a teen-ager in 1986.

- RFK's eldest son Joe II, was involved in a 1973 car accident that left a female passenger paralyzed for life.

- Joe II, tried to get an annulment (instead of a divorce) erasing his 12-year marriage. Supposedly Joe wanted to remain in the church, so he was willing to say that because he'd lacked "due discretion," he had never really been married. Joe's ex-wife published a book "Shattered Faith" that depicts him as a narcissistic bully and protests his efforts to have their 12-year marriage annulled. The annulment got overturned and his next marriage was NOT in the Catholic church.

- Many people do not know that JFK was also married before Jackie. He was married in a civil ceremony, and later got the marriage annulled and destroyed it from all existence.

- Michael drew negative publicity for an alleged affair with his family's underage baby sitter.

- Heat over Michael's affair ruined Joe II's chances of being elected Governor of Massachusetts.

- Michael died in a skiing accident in 1997 after they were told to stop because it was dangerous.

- Bobby Jr. was found in possession of marijuana while a juvenile.

- Bobby Jr. overdosed on heroin in 1983 while aboard an airplane. He was arrested upon landing.

- On July 16, 1999 John Jr. his wife and sister-in-law crashed in a plane piloted by John and the way to Martha's Vinyard.
